The Tour de Yorkshire 'Coming of age'
The 2018 Tour de Yorkshire offered a televised showcase for a young team learning its trade in the most public arena.
Vitus Pro Cycling Team seized the opportunity of extended broadcast coverage to give a live display of the courage, tenacity and raw talent required to compete against the world’s best teams and riders.
Adam Kenway’s heroic ride in a five-man breakaway on stage three gave the team a welcome share of the spotlight, and arguably our most memorable moment, after two days of tough racing.
Liam Davies, a teenager plucked from the obscurity of the Derby track league, fought with immense bravery against the likes of Mark Cavendish, Greg Van Avermaet and Ian Stannard to beat the time cut each day and stay in the race.
Our visual narrative offers a window on Vitus Pro Cycling Team’s willingness to confront the dominance of teams from the elite UCI WorldTour, in an environment where ‘pain’ was the order of the day, every day, for four stages.
